Meet Executive Director, Sarah Konradi
As Executive Director of the Design Workshop Foundation, based in the Denver studio, Sarah leads the organization's strategic vision, programming, and operations. She collaborates closely with Design Workshop studio teams to engage communities nationwide in pro-bono projects. A licensed landscape architect and design thinker, Sarah brings over 15 years of experience advancing inclusive, nature-based solutions through community-driven design, environmental advocacy, and cross-sector partnerships.
She also worked with the Natural Learning Initiative at North Carolina State University, advising educators on how natural environments support healthy child development. A prolific public speaker and writer, Konradi delivered a TEDx MileHigh talk in 2018, Designing Playgrounds for Happier, Healthier Children, and also published an Op-Ed in The Hill advocating for federal investment in health-promoting outdoor spaces.
Konradi earned her master’s degree from North Carolina State University and her bachelor’s degree from Savannah College of Art and Design.
“We, as a collective society, are at a critical moment that calls for innovation and new approaches beyond what has worked in the past. From the climate crisis to pressing social justice issues, our world is changing rapidly, and without bold, creative thinking, we risk falling short. The role of Design Workshop Foundation extends beyond giving back or doing good. It is about reimagining how we address the environmental and social challenges before us to ensure a sustainable, equitable future for all.”
